FAQ'S

Because coffee questions happen too.

Coffee beans can sometimes grow mold during farming, storage, or shipping — especially in humid climates. That’s where testing matters. When we say mold-free, we mean every batch of beans is carefully tested to make sure they’re clean, safe, and up to our standards. No hidden nasties, no unpleasant surprises — just pure, delicious coffee. Because your morning buzz should come with energy and flavor, not unwanted extras.

Mycotoxins are toxic byproducts left behind by certain molds — and unfortunately, some cheap coffees on the market can contain trace amounts. Not here. When we say mycotoxin-free, it means our beans are tested and verified clean, so you’re not sipping on anything sketchy. Just smooth, safe, delicious coffee that fuels your day the way it should.

Yeast and other microbes can sometimes grow on improperly stored beans, affecting both taste and quality. Yeast-free means our beans are kept clean and tested, so your coffee tastes like coffee — not funky science experiments.

Some soils naturally contain heavy metals like lead, arsenic, or cadmium that can end up in crops (including coffee). Heavy metal-free means our beans are screened to make sure they’re clean, pure, and safe for sipping.

Robusta beans pack nearly twice the caffeine of Arabica. That’s why most of our roasts are Arabica — smooth, flavorful, and less jittery. If you’re chasing a caffeine rocket ship, espresso and cold brew are your best bets since they’re brewed extra strong.

Arabica is one of the two main types of coffee beans (the other is Robusta). When you see 100% Arabica, it means your coffee is made entirely from Arabica beans — no blends, no fillers. Arabica beans are prized for their smoother taste, subtle sweetness, and wide range of flavor notes, from fruity and floral to nutty and chocolatey. Robusta tends to be harsher and more bitter, so choosing 100% Arabica means you’re getting a more refined, sip-worthy cup.

Yep. All of our roasts are tested and certified mold-free, toxin-free, yeast-free, and heavy-metal-free. Translation: no weird stuff in your cup, just pure deliciousness.

Our beans come from Central America, South America, and Africa, regions known for distinctive flavor profiles. From smooth Colombian to bold Ethiopian, we’re always adding new varieties to keep things fresh in your mug.

Because labels don’t always tell the full story. Instead, we focus on quality, sustainability, fair wages, and building relationships with small farms. It’s how we make sure your coffee tastes good and does good.

Surprise: the roast level barely changes caffeine content. Light, medium, dark — it’s all about the bean. Robusta = more buzz. Arabica = smoother ride.

Espresso is tiny but mighty — 60–75 mg of caffeine in a single shot thanks to high pressure extraction. Cold brew also sneaks up on you, with long steep times that pull in extra caffeine.

Shots. Shots. Shots. Espresso shots, that is. Order a latte or flat white with multiple shots if you really want to feel your heartbeat in stereo.

Yes — dependence and withdrawal are real. The FDA recommends no more than 400 mg a day (that’s about 4–5 cups of coffee). Or as we like to say: sip responsibly.

Yes! Every roast we offer can be turned into a Sipscription — saving you 15% off each month plus a lower shipping fee. Pick your go-to roast, set your schedule, and let the good beans roll. Because running out of coffee is one kind of chaos we don’t allow.

Absolutely. We’ve curated a few Sip Packs that are available in 2-packs or 3-packs so you can try more, pay less, and find the roast you love. Each pack comes at a lower price per bag, making it perfect for indecisive sippers or anyone who wants a little variety in their morning lineup.

Coffee Beans: Where the Magic Starts

Great coffee starts with great beans, and that's the real MVPs of your morning. Everything from the bean’s variety to the elevation and climate it’s grown in shapes its flavor. Think of it like wine grapes — but totally different vibes depending on where it’s grown.

Roasting is where those raw beans come alive, unlocking their natural aromas and transforming them into the complex, delicious flavors you know and love. At Sip Happens, every bean matters, and our roasters bring out its best personality! Bold, smooth, or somewhere in between.

Beans + Heat: Where Flavor Finds Its Groove

Roasting isn’t just about “making beans brown.” It’s about unlocking flavor personalities. From the bold, chocolatey kick of a classic American cup to the delicate floral notes of a light roast, each profile tells its own story.

The roasting process is all about balance, skill, timing, and just the right amount of heat. That’s how the best is coaxed out from every bean, creating brews that range from smooth and mellow to bold and daring. No matter your vibe, we’ve got a roast that fits it.

Only the Best: Because Your Mug Deserves It

Good coffee doesn’t happen by accident. Every batch roasted gets the VIP treatment from start to finish. From the moment the beans hit the roastery, they’re checked for size, color, and density — no slackers allowed.

As they roast, they're kept under a close eye (and nose) on things like: aroma, color changes, and evenness. It’s all about making sure what ends up in your mug isn’t just good, but consistently great. Because life may be unpredictable, but your coffee shouldn’t be.

The Last Stage of the Journey: Freshness, Sealed with Love

Roasting may be the star of the show, but the encore is just as important. Once the beans hit peak perfection, all that flavor and aroma is locked in with proper storage and packaging — because nothing ruins good coffee faster than oxygen, moisture, or heat.

That’s why each batch is stashed in airtight containers and sealed in bags designed to let carbon dioxide escape (a natural part of the roasting process) while keeping air out. The result? Coffee that stays as fresh and flavorful as the day it was roasted, all the way to your doorstep.

Because what’s the point of roasting magic if it doesn’t make it to your mug?
